Day 13 Ironbridge and Telford

A trip to Ironbridge today to finish off a perfect Easter weekend, and what a gorgeous little place this is.
Taking two cars we made our way along the M54, the girls in front, the boys following behind in the "man van"!

As they say "ones mans misfortune is another mans gain", and so it was today, as Katie drove around the Ironbridge car park trying desperately to find a space. We drove around once to no avail, and then Gary spotted one and parked, the girls were just about to drive out of the car park, when I spotted a car backing out, around we went and quickly whipped into the parking spot. It was not until we got out, and realised that one car, that had not been there before, was parked in a very awkward spot, which just happened to be the car that was presumably backing out of the park Katie whipped into, had in fact rolled out of the space, with no one in it!!  Oops!! Well at least we had a parking spot!!

The weather once again was amazing, a hazy day with not a breath of wind, and about 16c. It was very pleasant walking through this quaint little village, and the Iron Bridge was a sight to behold.

The Iron Bridge was built over the river Severn in 1779, and was the first cast iron bridge to be built. Once more the history of this beautiful country continues to amaze us.

Lunch at the local "chippie" in town, and some lollies for the kids from the candy store, ice cream for the adults, except for myself, as I desperately wanted to indulge in one of "Queenies" cupcakes, that I had seen earlier!

The sign is absolutely correct, the vanilla cupcake I ate was one of the best cupcakes I have ever had, delicious!!

From here it was on to Telford, as Jack had already informed the kids of the awesome Primark there! Which it was, and there were lots of bargains to be had! A quick stop at Krispy Kremes, for some donuts to be enjoyed later, it was on to the Bradford Arms for a pint over the wood.

Home again for left overs from last nights cricket buffet, and the final episodes of Pride & Prejudice, and then Braveheart, to get us ready for our trip to Scotland next week!

Highlights

* Ironbridge streets and buildings
* Queenies vanilla cupcake
* Our expertise at finding an available parking spot on a busy Easter Monday in Ironbridge!

Lots of love,

Chrissie xx
